Charles A. Rehberg is a life-long resident of Albany, Georgia. He was born at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, the same non-profit hospital that would later attack him for exposing their executive salaries, corporate profits, cash holdings, and aggressive collection tactics aimed at the uninsured.
Mr. Rehberg earned undergraduate degrees in business and accounting with honors from Darton College in Albany, Georgia and Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia. He also earned a Master’s degree in health care administration from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) by training, Mr. Rehberg has over 25 years of experience in hospital and health care finance. During his career, he has served non-profit hospitals as a public accountant, consultant, and Chief Financial Officer. During this time, he earned the designation of Fellow of the Health care Financial Management Association (FHFMA), the highest certification in the field of health care finance. Mr. Rehberg has been the executive administrator of an Albany physician group since 1998.
Mr. Rehberg has also earned the designations of Certified Forensic Accountant (Cr.FA) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF). As a forensic accountant, Mr. Rehberg has assisted numerous attorneys in pro-consumer legal cases involving hospitals and other health care related entities. He has also donated his time to assist health care industry watchdog groups in their research regarding health care industry matters of public importance.
Mr. Rehberg and his wife Wanda and twin daughters Jessica and Stephanie continue to reside in Albany, Georgia.
